How to Grow a Garden

The first few posts were giving a run down of some basic information for growing a garden of any type and some things you need to know before you start digging in the dirt and plopping seeds into the ground. Next we will take a brief step back and concentrate on vegetable gardening to start off.

We will look at the differences between gardening indoors and outdoors and the pros and cons of each, and the different methods of outdoor gardening. We’ll consider container gardening for small spaces or convenience. We’ll look further into planning your vegetable garden and the preparation that will go into planting the seeds or seedlings. We will examine how to make compost, how to fertilize and how to irrigate the garden. Insect, weed & disease control and fighting methods will be discussed as well. Then we’ll dedicate some posts to individual vegetables, and a whole lot more. Stay tuned!
